GolEagle hits it.
If she had a bad car, she would have an excuse for a bad performance.
Starting in a decent car, she has to make it or not on her driving ability.
I have no clue if she will adopt or not. if she can do it, great for the series, and if she can't, great for the boards ... can you imagine the hundreds of pages of threads trashing her and saying "Told you so"?
As to have fresh material, I intend to try to stay away from this thread until the occasion arises

Not that she is a girl, just another race winning car being driven by one who is not and will not be capable of winning. see also: John Wes Townley/RCR. If she was to put in ten races with , hmm lemme think of a good place to start, let's say the 61, 90/91, 0, 07, 47,01, any of the unfunded teams that could really benefit from the sponsors she could bring, and that might get to race whole races with her money, then I might have absolutely no issue at all with her presence. But if her only contribution is to take up space in a top tier car, and line Hendrick's and Junior's already fat wallets, then count me out.
You win for best answer in a thread.

Nascar fans live in a world of propaganda. They shell out money and drool over their favorite driver like they are some kind of deity.

Whatever Nationwide races she enters will become the ESPN Danica Show for 2-3 hours.
Better than the Steven Wallace show we currently get. At least Danica's easier on the eyes...

To keep my word a little longer, this response has nothing to do with "her"...
Currently, Steve Wallace is
not the 'star' of the Disney produced Nationwide show, he is merely comic relief. Much like Hurley on
Lost or Hiro on
Heroes.

She's a married woman.
When I get home tonight I'll look at some of the forums that deal with Jr's girlfriends ... see if she's made an appearance. Always good reading.

personally I see no big deal in her signing to Nascar for 2 years at the same time as her other contract. I'd assume its her plan to get her feet wet in Nascar whilst her main focus, for now at least, will stay in IRL.
The only thing that surprises me is that she didn't sign with Tony Stewart, I figured if she went anywhere it would be with him.
I just hope the coverage during her races is based on her performance, not deals with sponsors to mention her regardless of her performance. Listening to weekly ramblings with Joey Logano when his performance 9 times out of 10 didn't warrant it this year has just been annoying. I can imagine that trend being looked at with eager eyes by other sponsors and its just one more irritant in many during race broadcasts these days.
I don't object to coverage of her...if she's running well. That part we'll have to wait and see about I guess.
