I was reading on another F1 board that the FIA has passed the engine performance equality rule or something like that. What dose that mean? Because the other board didn't really go into any details.

Not sure but I bet Bernie gets more money somehow.

I've already figured out that I can go to 2 ALMS races using my budget for the Canadian GP. Thanks FIA...

You're probably referring to this, that I've seen in a couple of press releases:

"Another significant development to come from the "Extraordinary Meeting" is to allow "teams to equalize engine performance across the field for 2009, pending the introduction of cost-saving measures from 2010""

This seems to be a rather extraordinary statement with no details that I've seen. I'm curious also.

This is about all I could find: http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2008/10/08/how-will-the-fia-make-each-f1-teams-engine-performance-equal-in-2009/

Yes, I live in Southern California, so air fare and hotel used to take up a third of the budget...

Another article http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/71225

...Ecclestone said: "The thing I am most excited about is pushing and pushing and pushing the homologated engine idea.

"The new engine will be equalised and there will only be two engine changes a year, so costs are going to dramatically come down, and I mean dramatically."

Yeah right, just like the two race rule saved money, after the teams pumped billions of dollars in to its development. And the V8 rule saved money, after the teams dumped billions of dollars in to its development. BS! Just another way to dumb down what was once the highest level of Motor Racing.

One again, annual "cost saving" measures that cost millions of dollars to plan for, cope with, etc., only to be thrown out the window the next year due to the latest "cost saving measure". What a bunch of clowns.
